Double Dress

8.20.2016

Jil Sander silk dress, Reformation dress (the dress is essentially the Cornelia, only made with cotton instead of linen), Jeffrey Campbell pumps, vintage Esprit bag, vintage Calvin Klein jacket, Persol sunglasses (Karen Walker's hardware-to-acetate design is pretty similar), childhood pearl necklace

There's plenty of vintage t-shirt and silky/slinky dress pairing in the air lately, I suppose this is me going to the next level on this concept by layering perfect Tee-top dress and petal cocktail dress. By themselves, they serve different purposes; the white, super bouncy elastane-cotton Reformation dress is brought out when I'm feeling brave and confident (I have to take it to the dry cleaners often, put it that way).

The Jil dress, however, I go either way on. I'd normally wear it to an "event" of some sort, but let's be honest, I'm never invited to these fabled schwankfests. Instead, I'll throw this delicate pink dress to treat myself to a glass of wine and a book +maybe a little flirty conversation with a bartender as he wipes the clean glasses by the dusty bottle of Campari by the radio and delicately places them on the stack by my seat, pretending each time to cheers the glass between my fingertips..

...what was I talking about?

Anyway, also wearing the string pearl necklace I've had since I was 6 years old. My mom gave it to me, and only allowed me to wear it to formal functions, but uh, now I just wear it to the grocery store.
