Deceivingly Sinister

This piece is so intensely awesome it hurts. Literally.
Oh yes, you see what I did there.

I've been on Etsy a bit too much lately, but my constant search for oddities proves fruitful every once in a while when I find soemthing like this guy, which I bought from Angel Court, a line I have had the pleasure of working with in the past. You can see their full collections of new and appropriated pieces here.

This piece is a vintage pin knife pendant that conceals not one, but two blades that fold into its circular body. I'm like, losng my mind over how cool it is because it's so subtly sinister. In its original context, I'm sure it wasn't intended to be a piece of jewelry, probably just a decorative yet useful keychain. How useful is it now that it is a piece of jewelry, you ask? What if I told you I've already cut an apple with this thing? I've also scraped up candle wax and ripped a pair of jeans with the hooked knife, so I'd say we're going to get along just fine.

  3. This is amazing! It's on the same level as, say, a ring that can open and hold a powder or a necklace that is secretly a vial (medieval poison jewelry!). What an great find :)

  4. This is really cool! I love Angel Court pieces. No one would expect the blades at all.
