This week I'll be bouncing around press previews for the Spring 2013 collections that will be hitting stores and online later this season. It's always a fun experience to be able to see everything up-close before stuff comes out, but earlier today I was introduced to We See Beauty, a new online marketplace that supports growing cooperatives with 1/3 of all sales and offers a highly curated products that promote good design and craftsmanship, and I am BEYOND in love. The shop as a whole is really impressive and beautiful, offering design objects, books, jewelry and other curiosities, but it's their in-house makeup and skincare line MAKE that really impressed me with how well-planned and simple it is.
MAKE is awesome for a number of reasons: (1) Its look is no-nonsense and sleek (2) Everything is paraben, fragrance, preservative and cruelty-free (3) The pieces are beautifully made in NYC and (4) The focus of the makeup is entirely based around color and intensity. I took home a number of products after the preview, and I am already using the Matte Lipstick in Scarlet (as seen hurr) and the Illuminator pen on the regular.
I can't help but love any initiative that wants to make the world a better place through art, so a tip of the hat definitely goes to We See Beauty. I know I'll be trolling the site obsessively this year.
