To put it lightly, Hurricane Sandy totally screwed us over.
After MAJOR flooding, continuing total blackouts and insane winds, my apartment is powerless, heatless & gass-less 'till Monday. The East Village is absolutely dead, without electricity, street signs are out of commission, stores are without ability to open, and just masses of people have been evacuating in search of a way to charge their phones. In the meanby, after 3 days without internet, I'm taking refuge at my aunt's place uptown.

These were taken a few hours before the storm. It was windy but still manageable for a walk outside to grab some last supplies. A few days ago, I got my hair color darkened & cut a bit for Fall with some chocolate brown sections put in at my hair dude's suggestion. I dig it, but it's still going to require some major upkeep to make sure the color pulls through. Thankfully my Paul Mitchell curl stuff is sulfate free, which is meant to keep curls from frizzing, but it's exactly what colored hair needs in order to prevent fading. Holla!!

Speaking of which, PM is doing this insanely cool thing where you can upload your #CurlConfession photo on their Truth About Curls Facebook app, and then if you're in NYC or LA, you'll be able to see it projected for all the world to see on November 15th! Upload them Curl Confessions by 11/14, and you'll be able to see them on Bowery & Houson in NYC or in LA.

If that doesn't entice you to show off your beautiful curls, then you should also know that Paul Mitchell is giving away their entire full-sized line of curl products every week to their favorite confessions, so hop to it HERE!

  7. Talk about the calm before the storm. You look awesome but more importantly Im glad you were able to find a place to stay! I had a friend from the financial district stay with me in BK. I still can't get over how so much of Manhattan is still in darkness.

  10. So cute that you're still rocking the overalls! And I know New York will bounce back in no time - I hope it's not too unbearable in the meantime!
