So, I get a lot of questions about my skin/hair/makeup routines, which surprises me because I am nowhere close to a makeup aficionado extraordinaire like, let's say Arabelle or Keiko (hai, guys), but I definitely have my favorite products and my everyday go-tos. I thought I'd do a little series of posts on what my beauty thoughts and routines are. Click below to see the first installment:

First photo l to r:
Too Faced Full Bloom lip & cheek stain in Prim & Poppy, FLIRT! Cosmetics lipstick in Crave,  Makeup Forever Lift Concealer in shade 01, Nars Orgasm Illuminator, Urban Decay lip crayon in F-Bomb, Maybelline Mega Lash mascara, Yves Saint Laurent Volupté gloss balm in Sweet Fig, NUDE cleansing oil, FLIRT! Cosmetics lip gloss in Passion Potion, Urban Decay Cream Powder Foundation in Haze & 24/7 liquid liner in Carbon Black

These would be the general makeup faves. If I'm going off to class or running errands, these are the products I turn to if I want to look more alive. The noteworthy products would be MF's Lift Concealer, Too Faced's lip & cheek stain & Urban Decay's liquid liner. I searched high & low for the perfect concealer and Makeup Forever's is light but packed with pigment even for my paleness. Too Faced's stain has to be one of the most perfect everyday shade for fair complexions, or anyone who needs some warmth. FLIRT!'s super dark lipstick + gloss combo here has to be the ballsiest way to go, but I love wearing the chocolatey shades with a totally neutral ensemble.

When I'm ready to take all the gunk off my face, NUDE's cleansing oil is still my favorite. It's super gentle, smells amazing and doesn't clog my pores at all.

Hair
Arrojo Gentle Conditioner, Lush Cosmetics Curly Wurly shampoo, Moroccanoil treatment, Frederick Fekkai glossing spray, Arrojo curl enhancer

More than anything, I get comments and questions referring to my hair. I'll be going into detail about my cut & color in my next beauty post installment, but I needed to share my go-to hair products. I'm in a delicate position with my hair because it's both color treated & very curly and thick. This means NO SULFATES IN THE HAIR STUFF EVER (ever see 'Sodium Lauryl Sulfate' or 'Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate' or Sulfur? Avoid at all costs!). Sulfates dry the hell out of your hair, and while nobody should really use products with sulfates in them, curly haired folks should especially avoid them because curly hair is already naturally dehydrated and deprived of moisture, causing frizz.

With that being said, my shampoo & conditioner combo is very curl-friendly.  I'm totally obsessed with Lush's Curly Wurly shampoo even though it looks and feels like baby food. It's absolutely loaded with moisturizing coconut oil and even bits of coconut to exfoliate a teeny bit and nourish. Arrojo's gentle shampoo & conditioner is fantastic because it doesn't have sulfates, and it has Argon oil in it, which keeps my hair shiny. It's also perfect for color-treated hair. Morrocanoil has been a staple of mine for a bit, not only is a small amount amazing for keeping hair shiny & healthy for a week, it also has to be the greatest smelling hair product out there. Arrojo's curl cream is also my go-to amplifier. It's super light but has great hold and shaping ingredients. I usually run a good glob through my hair before letting it air-dry.

Complexion
Too Faced's Pink Leopard bronzer & Candlelight Glow Illuminator/blush

I have been obsessed with these two since the summer began. I was never much of a bronzer person, but I was encouraged to try it and I can't look back. Too Faced is arguably the go-to brand for bronzer, and their Pink Leopard is the bomb for adding some pinky peach undertone to your cheeks. If I'm not feeling too awake, these make my skin even and bright, especially the Candlelight Illuminator, which is a MUST if you're a no-makeup makeup kind of person. A little swipe of both goes a long way, but the pretty glow they create is subtle and lovely.

Lips
Poppy King for Jcrew lipstick, Benefit Cosmetics Cha Cha Tint,  YSL Volupté balm in Sweet Fig, Sephora cream stain in shade 01 Always Red, Sephora Cream Rouge lipstick in shade R10 Mr.Lover

And where would I be without my lipstick? The most "made-up" look i can create for myself is a cateye swipe of eyeliner with a saturated matte lip, but I love stains and balms for when my complexion needs a pick-me-up. Poppy King's lipstick that she created just for Jcrew is the perfect balance of orange and red. It looks great when I wear a lot of cool colors especially. Benefit's Cha Cha tint is great as a cheek stain, but woah honey do I love it more as a lip stain. It's a perfect peachy shade that doesn't budge all day.

I've been a YSL lipstick fan since I bought myself a tube for my 19th birthday, but I've been really digging their glossy balm lately, and this shade is kind of a sweeter version of Clinique's black honey balm. It's sultry and smells amaaaaaaaaaazing. That leaves me with Sephora's lipsticks, which, to be honest, are my favorite as far as saturation and long-lastingness, especially their cream lip stain, which is essentially liquid lipstick. The red shade is absolutely outstanding and the wear goes on forever. If you ever need a super bright lipstick, Sephora is definitely the way to go with its great price-point and quality.

So that's it for my favorite products, stay tuned for my next installment: getting my hair ready for Fall & Fashion Week!
