Vintage tee/blazer/boots, gifted Big Star jeans, gifted Quiksilver leather jacket, Asos hat

Apologies for the seriously spaced out posts lately, I'm drowning myself in my final papers and exams before the semester ends this upcoming Friday. Until then, things are gonna be pretty slow around here, but rest assured, things will be way back to normal by the weekend, that is, if I make it that far..

But here is something quick for y'alls. Lounging during some free time, back into the rock tees, except this one's the real deal. I couldn't believe it when I found this shirt, it's an authentic long-sleeved tour merch shirt from Emerson, Lake & Palmer's North American Brain Salad Surgery tour circa 1974! I'm geeking out!! The back has H.R. Geiger's cover illustration, although it's faded from years of being worn under a jacket.

Some insanely inspiring scans of Serge Barbeau's work, with his notes and all. Something so wonderfully rare and cool, almost as if you get a glimpse into the artist's brain as he reflects on his own work. It's something I wish everyone did, it keeps you sane and nostalgic, which isn't a bad combination, if you ask me.

Boyfriend's Iron Maiden tee, Vintage jacket & Coach bag, gifted Vanessa Mooney Clara & Diamond in the Rough necklaces, vintage rings, gifted Aryn K skirt, Qupid flats

I visited Natalie in her new pad uptown this past weekend and she thought it'd be a good idea to take a stroll around Carl Schurtz park, an incredibly beautiful and lush park that I am totally jealous of her for living by. It's like Alice in Wonderland with all of its winding paths and trees to peer under. Later on after our stroll, we realized we were both wearing Iron Maiden shirts ('cause we're awesome)

...Except once again, I am stealing from my boyfriend.
I don't really listen to Iron Maiden on the regular, which makes me kind of a narcissist for wearing this shirt, but I've always loved Eddie the Head, so there's that. My boyfriend has had this shirt for a loooong time, you can tell from the holes along the bottom of it from years of snagging on his belt buckle, something I can't help but love.

I went a little '90s with the styling by adding my mom's old Coach backpack from high school and my beloved Vanessa Mooney necklaces. I first saw the Diamond in the Rough necklace back when I visited Free People's headquarters last year and totally fell head over heels for its unique design. I can't help but love the bright thread knotted along the drippy silver chain. And ya gotta love the Clara collection, of course for the obvious reason but mostly because the texture of the orbs resembles some ancient African artwork by the Nok and Edo peoples that I found myself admiring last year during my art history classes. You can learn more about that here. I normally wear these two together with the longer necklace wrapped twice around my neck like a choker. Now, if only I could learn to ride a skateboard and be convincing....

Alexander Wang sweater, BDG cutoffs, thrifted cargo jacket, Deena & Ozzy boots, Asos bag, random headphones from TJMaxx

I know, I've been a bit sparse with the posts, but things are about to be a lot more consistent, I promise.

Something casual for y'all. I just second-handed this A. Wang sweater, and this thing is beyond epic. Perfect for spring and warmer weather in that it's not too hot and all that. You know, a bunch of holes will do that.Went with the new schoolgirl-What-a-girl-Wants-video-esque shoes and a carry-all. This is actually kind of my school/knockabout uniform. I have a hard time finding good school-to-blog bag since nothing is large enough to fit my laptop and SLR while not being cumbersome. This bag kind of gets the job done for that, but otherwise it's a great everyday bag!

These headphones look pretty cool, but they have super crappy sound. I kind of need it to be that way so that I'll be able to hear that oncoming truck or friend calling my name while I'm walking around. And what's on my playlist, you ask? The Beatles (duh), A lot of George Harrison's solo work, Simon & Garfunkel, Pink Floyd, Milkcan (look 'em up, they're nuts), Nico, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The White Stripes, No Doubt, Led Zeppelin, Fiona Apple, Erykah Badu, Pretty much anyone who played at Woodstock... The groovy stuff.

On a sidenote, It's my Birthday today! Yay!! I'm 20!
It's also Earth Day! Happy Earth Day everyone!!
All of you guys are such a gift, thank you so much for being the best readers a girl could ask for and thank you for accompanying me on my blog adventures, I just wanna to give you all a hug! Much love!
Now, pass that cake.

Can't go wrong with a shoot inspired by The Virgin Suicides! These were shot by Robert Harper for a Ukrainian magazine called Playing Fashion. I love how undone these looks are, they're a little more sweet than you'd think and a bit more grown up, but still righteously cool.

Thanks for the photo takeage, Bonnie!
Sugarlips tie blouse, Aryn K blazer, My boyfriend's Gap jeans, vintage belt & scarf, N.Y.L.A. wedges, Rebecca Minkoff Covet satchel

Went waaaayyy brighter than usual yesterday and I liked it.
My boyfriend and I borrow each other's clothes a lot since I own a lot of menswear and oversized vintage pieces, and Joe's mix of eclectic prints and basics are always fun to pull from. After borrowing these jeans to accompany taking Rance on a late night walk, I couldn't help but love how comfy they were, and so they were worn out the next day.

I ended up really playing up the tomboy vibes and threw on some schoolday basics: button-down, blazer, satchel, done. These NYLA wedges were a great (and super cheap) find, I love wearing them with anything springtime-approved.

You might have also noticed the hair is slightly different! Went a bit brighter with an edgier cut thanks to Olivia and John at Arrojo (hey guys!!!). Still experimenting with product styling, I'm actually modeling in Olivia's presentation tonight so stay tuned tonight for Instagramming and Tweety (both @ClaireGeist) updates!
