My Art History professor literally whipped out the Spring 2011 Bergdorf Goodman catalog today in class and proclaimed "Isn't this just wonderful?!" I was of course intrigued and she later handed me the fairly large magazine during our break so that I could look at the editorials more closely. It's weird, I've never been so moved by an editorial, and I REALLY hope that doesn't sound too extreme, but c'mon, this is just masterful.

This piece with Tao Okamoto is beyond stunning and just stylistically breathtaking. The clothes from Parada & Jil Sander Spring 2011 were the staple inspirations for the shoot with their mainstay place in the trend of high-definitition color for spring and the photos are just executed beautifully with Tao seeming to find herself displaced against the barren, rough terrain of desert and ruin- she's almost like an alien having crash-landed.

I ramble, but I also love. See more of Cedric Buchet's work here.

Zara Jacket, F21 blouse, Club Monaco shorts, Aldo platforms, H&M bag (thrifted), DIY'd/ UO necklaces (one fashioned from an arcade token & random charm), rings are Etsy'd & Vintage

Just a bit of sun this past weekend, but surely not unnoticed and unappreciated.

I've been DYING to break out these shorts ever since I got them during the Club Monaco Spring/Summer 2011 launch (documented hurr). Totally one of those great pieces that just beckon to be worn with anything. Not heavy at all and they catch light with every crease and movement.

Guang and I shot around in this apartment complex that is blessed with some improving landscaping that looks like it's going to be impressive once warmer weather is in full-swing. The courtyard with aligned trees was especially intriguing.

And ah, I have been reunited with my favorite tunic since s[ring break. It billows over anything it is tucked into with such ease and with a sense of deconstruction.

My Style Minute Interview with Boutiques.com!!

3.22.2011

Here's a throwback video interview I did with Boutiques.com during fashion week!
It was so great running into Krystal who interviewed me on that very chilly afternoon.

I actually just left that poncho back at my house upstate when I traveled up there for spring break this past week
I guess it was sort of a ritual way of welcoming warmer, spring-ier weather

Yeah, I know I'm terrible for being mia for a while...a long while...BUT I have a pretty legitimate excuse: My camera is busted beyond recognition. To save myself from massive embarrassment, I'm going to give you the simplified version and say it fell out of my bag.

REST ASSURED, I just got me a new SLR and it will be in my possession by tomorrow, which is when it will used for a brand spankin' new outfit post. With sunshine. Yes.

Anywho, I've decided to focus a little on my favorite bright color for spring: chartreuse! I got kinda bored with seeing all the pops of cobalt (despite for how much I love it and how rad it looks against red hair...) but yay! There's something about this peppy citrus color that looks ridiculously sharp against black and silver, however I think I'm totally gonna channel Prada & wear it with white

F21 shirt, thrifted Gap vest, GLO skinny cargos, Schutz heels, thrifted/J Crew belts, vintage Hamilton watch, Etsy'd eyeball ring, Accessorize Jaguar ring, vintage bracelets, '77 Manual Minolta

It rained today but it didn't put a total damper on shooting outside with Guang a bit.

The top is a favorite at the moment, I love layering it with weirdly-textured long sleeve tops underneath, it's a perfect transition piece for sure.

At the moment I find myself sitting in JFK airport due to a delayed flight home for spring break...sigh. Espresso in hand, I'm awaiting to be reunited with my boyfriend, parents and dog.

Astars top, thrifted silk maxi, various bracelets, LAS ring, Giles & Brother bolt bracelet, eyeball ring via Etsy, Deena & Ozzy wedges, J. Crew bag

This.Bag.
If any of you follow me on Tumblr, you'll know how bad I've been lusting for this discontinued J. Crew bag. After meticulous searching, I found who had it here in NYC. It's seriously the ultimate accessory, worn with crappy tees or strapless dresses & tailored blazers, this thing rocks my world. And if the chains get to be just too epic, they detach, providing one with a calfskin clutch.Augh.

Thrifted blouse, Bird by Juicy Couture, H81 pants, Kors by Michael Kors sandal heels, INTERMIX bag

Oh how gorgeous the day was! I wore this out to see a friend's play and peruse around Christopher street and grab some lunch.

These pants are my new favorite garment, I wish they came in more colors! They're perfectly tomboyish and relaxed. The bag is also a current favorite. Its shape sort of reminds me of the concept of shopping bags that was explored at Jil Sander for spring 2011

Malibu Native bikini, courtesy thereof, get it here, thrifted denim button-down, F21 skirt, Aldo platform sandals, Thrifted/vintage bracelets

My NYC-based attempt at boho in the late-winter. AUGH how anxious I am for spring. You'd think I'm not preparing myself very well for the fact that I am spending my spring break in a city that is 20 degrees colder than NYC, but that's where the heated indoor pool comes in (what else are friends for?)

I've always mis-matched my bikinis thanks to the influence of seeing the concept artfully done with citrus colored bikinis in Jcrew catalogs all my life. Plus, that's one of the many charms of bikinis, separates coming together!

Wanna know the best part about this bathing suit aside from the fantastically cute/carefree design? That subtly cinched detail vertically going down the middle on the bottom makes one's butt look AWESOME.

More thanks to Taylor Halcomb
Oscar de la Renta blouse, hand-destroyed tee given to my by Matt, Gap denim vest (thrifted), Demi-curve Jeans c/o Levi's, Schutz heels, Winged Eye ring via Etsy, Taylor's Alexander McQueen skull ring

I wore this to Help my friend Taylor out with a photoshoot here at Parsons. Student studios FTW!

My dear friend Matt who is a student at FIT & is my perfect Wednesday night dinner buddy gave me this shirt that he meticulously shredded himself (Estyin' it up). Under normal circumstances, I'm kind of "meh" when it comes to purposely destroyed clothes , however this tee works perfectly as a layering piece with all of its delightfully well-situated peek-a-boo holes and shreds. I guess I felt the need to amp up the edge-factor, adding the vest and diva heels (as Taylor would put it).

Myself & Fellow Bloggers in Video Debut for Katherine Kwei!

3.01.2011

I was SO excited to be a part of this awesome promo for Katherine Kwei's Lulu satchel featuring some fantastic bloggers including Casey (online editor at STYLEDON), Lani & Erin (SUGAR ROCK CATWALK), SARA ZUCKER and Bianca (SMALLGIRLSPR/BIANCAROCKSOUT)

Gotta love playing the part of the prissy nerd a la Annie from Community :D

Katherine's designs are über cool and the Lulu is no exception, it's one of those easy bags that are good for anything, which is exactly what you can see in the video.

OOH! And notes! I'm wearing my new Warby Parker Beckett frames! More hilights to come, they're seriously killing me with their new collection. Picking new frames was more difficult than ever!

Btdubs, Celia is the super awesome director behind this video, you should check her other awesome works out
