My Art History professor literally whipped out the Spring 2011 Bergdorf Goodman catalog today in class and proclaimed "Isn't this just wonderful?!" I was of course intrigued and she later handed me the fairly large magazine during our break so that I could look at the editorials more closely. It's weird, I've never been so moved by an editorial, and I REALLY hope that doesn't sound too extreme, but c'mon, this is just masterful.
This piece with Tao Okamoto is beyond stunning and just stylistically breathtaking. The clothes from Parada & Jil Sander Spring 2011 were the staple inspirations for the shoot with their mainstay place in the trend of high-definitition color for spring and the photos are just executed beautifully with Tao seeming to find herself displaced against the barren, rough terrain of desert and ruin- she's almost like an alien having crash-landed.
I ramble, but I also love. See more of Cedric Buchet's work here.
