Ralph Lauren Pink Pony polo, thrifted skirt, thrifted denim jacket, Dad's belt, Jcrew blazer, Jessica Simpson heels

It's Breast Cancer Awareness month and I'm thrilled to be participating in Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony Campaign. For over 20 years, Ralph Lauren has been offering an array of awesome products under the Pink Pony line to create profits to benefit breast cancer research. The Ralph Lauren team has generously sent myself and 100 other bloggers the pink pony polo to promote the cause.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO...omg.
This was my first fashion week. Unfortunately, I was only able to make it to two shows thanks to my class schedule. Oh, college, you botched my fashion week:[
Other shows I missed included Derek Lam (AUGHHHH) and Odd Molly (DOUBLE AUGHHH)

On the bright side, the two shows I did get to see were wholly spectacular and super fun. First was VPL, which is a line that I have always loved since Victoria Bartlett is absolutely fantastic with her lingerie and sportswear and knits. I wore a bustier over a t-shirt to the show to honor her aesthetic (which worked, she saw me and before I could open my mouth to pour praise over her she was like, "OH! I love what you did with that bustier!! It's so charming!" Score.). The show was fantastic, but I decided to only post backstage photos since you an see the whole collection here. You can't go wrong with lingerie-inspired pieces. The necklaces were made by Crumley, but I hesitate calling them necklaces, they were more like neckgear.

AND I MET OLIVIER ZAHM!!! I LOVE THIS MAN!! You guys, he was SOO nice and he liked my outfit, I nearly died shaking his hand. Is it weird that after the show I pretty much stayed around jsut so i could meet him? Yeah i know I'm a dork.

Later followed Andy & Debb, an amazing line out of NYC and Seoul. Andy & Debb's concept is basically to bring together minimalism and romance, and they do it quite, quite well I must say. Each piece translated SO well into both daywear and eveningwear. I loved the netted dress and skirts, they reminded me of victorian wallpaper. Pastels draped the models in forms of ultra-chic tailored pieces or minimal, backless dresses. I was totally inspired by the blazers with multiple panels.

Can I please be fabulously wealthy so I can surround myself with rows of mannequins wearing everything I saw at NYFW? No? Oh, alright I guess I'll just have to stay in school then.

Torn dress, thrifted leather vest, Jcrew belt, Stella McCartney heels, assorted bracelets

On Saturday I participated in an awesome bloggers' luncheon (how many of those happen, eh?) hosted by InStyle magazine in their lounge right outside of Lincoln center. It was a blast meeting some super awesome bloggers like Chantale from CocoRosa, Lindsey from Saucy Glossie, Erika from Fashion Chalet and Carolia from Fashion Squad.

This event was...
This event was......

Guys, I don't even know where to begin.

I found myself situated directly up against the stage at Ralph Lauren's VIP Fashion's Night Out event, completely-360-degrees surrounded by people I deeply admire.

To my left was André Leon Talley, Contributing Editor at Vogue and judge on ANTM. Nearly fainted shaking his hand. He said my hair was "quite adorable".
To my far left was Jessica Alba in an utterly fabulous silver dress, basking in the light from the other photographers' flash bulbs

And, of course, in front of me (with unbelievable energy and ridiculous amounts of talent) was Janelle Monáe. This woman. This artist. I can't begin. I've been an avid listener of her music for about a year and a half now and I can say with great confidence that she is bar-none the greatest performer I have ever seen live. Boom. I'm serious.

I sang, I drank some champagne, I took photos, I was in heaven. The place was packed but it was still fun.

I will say though, and I'm sure anyone else who was at FNO in SoHo will agree with me, IT WAS ABSOLUTE MADNESS beyond the front doors of the store. Countless women were teetering around, slightly over-dressed (in a fabulous way of course), clogging the sidewalks as eager shoppers window shopped and browsed around.

It was a night to remember. I've been drowning myself in Janelle's music ever since.

I ALREADY HAVE COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF FASHION WEEK STUFF TO POST, GUYS!! I'M SO EXCITED TO SHOW YOU!!!
